Try reading the ingredient list on your store bought shampoo and conditioner bottles. It is LONG with lots of words that you cannot pronounce and will never understand. As noted in my post on natural approach to washing, hundreds of chemicals are approved for use in the United States with ZERO safety studies. Replacing your store bought shampoo and conditioner with these simple ingredients will take you one step further to detoxing your life!
Homemade shampoo and conditioner are INCREDIBLY easy, cheap and effective. I promise you THEY WORK! And, there is a 90% chance you have the ingredients you need already in your home. I have been washing my hair exclusively with these products for years now and continue to be consistently impressed with how easy it is and how well they works.
When I used regular shampoo and conditioner, even natural and organic products, the next day after washing my hair it would be an oily mess! Now I can go 2 days between washing and my hair looks perfect, by day 3-4 its time to wash again, but I can usually stretch it a bit!
Hope you are excited to try my “No Poo” ingredients!!!
Natural Shampoo
Mix 1/4 cups of baking soda with 1 cup water, use as your shampoo! While we opt for natural / organic for 90%+ of products that we use. For this, regular Arm & Hammer baking soda will do just fine.
Natural Conditioner
Mix 1/4 cups of vinegar with 1 cup water, use as your conditioner! Ideally you should use Apple Cider Vinegar but if on a budget, regular vinegar will work just fine. Note, using vinegar in your hair has the added benefit of fighting dandruff! Any residual vinegar smell wont last long once the hair is dry.
Give these a try and report back on your success stories!
